Baby squid and the reef
I wish I had a filter for my underwater camera, because the first picture just doesn't do it justice. This is one of my favorite parts of the reef to swim because it's just covered with brain, staghorn coral, and big fans waving in the current. What you can't see is how pretty the colors are here. The fans are deep purple and yellow, the brain is yellow-green.... it's just so pretty. And, you can see how shallow the water is!
The second picture is taken at water level getting out at the sand bar. Again, wish my camera was getting the colors right, because the clear water, the green of the reef poking up, and the dark green of the hills behind is just so pretty.
The last picture is of the second school of squid I found - and these were in the shallows at the sandbar where all the people always congregate. They were tiny too - the biggest one might have been the length of my hand. Hopefully, you can kind of see the color difference between these guys and the bigger ones. These are almost sand colored. It's been really fun to see what colors they are on different days. Again, all in formation, and if you notice, the one on the far left is swimming tentacles-forward. There's always one in every group....
