KrispyKreme

We finally made it to the KrispyKreme in Bayamon... seriously, I've never seen anything like this in my life for a doughnut!! How many times do you see switchbacks in front of a doughnut shop? We must have hit it at the right time, because we were able to get inside the door before the line started, and honestly, it moved very quickly, much in part to the fact that they've got a staff of about 30 working back there. Crazy. The wait was also made much better because they give you free donuts while you are stuck in line :-)

So, here's the front of the store and the security guard who patrols the parking lot (for real... )

The panorama is worth enlarging just so you can get a feel for how long the drive-thru line gets. We're at the entrance to the lot, and the signs direct you around through switchbacks to the left.... the actual building is that waaaaay off in the top right corner. Again, just let me say... crazy.

Steve in line; happy people with their free doughnuts.

Only in Puerto Rico... only in PR.

We found one!

We've heard storie of the Puerto Rican Boa, but thought it was an enigma... until Saturday morning! So, here's proof, albeit squashed proof, that they exist.

We've had some really beautiful sunrises lately... pretty enough to actually roll our butts out of bed to go enjoy them!

I think the last picture clears up any doubts as to whether or not there is Spanish blood in Steve's veins

Vieques Bio-Bay

Unfortunately, this is the only picture that came out from the trip to the bioluminescent bay. Even though the light in the water is shockingly bright, it's just not enough to show up on camera. This was as we were just starting to lash kayaks together before jumping in to play in the watery light show

Uncle Bob found a big fan that had broken off

Aunt Jean gets a snorkeling lesson, while a tornado strikes in the background.

Aunt Jean and I lamenting that our hair is getting rain splattered

Neither tornado, nor monsoon can keep Uncle Bob from beachcombing

Trunkfish. These guys are so cool

Awesome coral - it was stiff enough that it didn't so much move in the current, it just trembled. Really neat to watch!

Me and Uncle Bob swimming off into the great unknown

My conch. Still inhabited... he kept running one of those big stalky eyes out at me!
