The second picture is when we finally hit the end of the trail - it's the 3rd, and biggest dry waterfall on this trail. I can't imagine what it must look like when this thing is zorching. It's only about 2.4 miles from the start of the trail, but we spent all day getting here because we took so many off-trail climbs. We figure that we easily covered over 4 miles on the way there, and climbed more than 1200 feet.
I like the fact that the sun sets early in the canyon and the light you get is the glow off of the higher westward-facing rocks :-)
