Mostly El Yunque

Sunday, we went to El Yunque, though we got a significantly later start than we had planned. I think it might have something to do with the fact that we were out having a blast with Johanna until 3am...

Anyways, here's the beach from our hotel window. It was really pretty! Kind of a waste, actaully, because we were so excited about exploring the treasures of the East coast that we didn't even set foot on the beach.

The next pictures are from El Portal, which is the welcome center as you drive into the rainforest. Again, I love the ferns, especially when they're fiddley-headed. That big unbrella shaped tree behind me? That's a fern.

And then the last picture just gets a big ???? from both me and Steve. First of all, why and how did you ever pick that remote of a spot, in the middle of a rain forest to build your house? Secondly, how the heck do you get in and out for supplies? Thirdly, perched on tip top of a hill like that... Why the stilts??
