Still more water fights, walking around with a bucket on your head - just because... and a really pretty moon over the house!

More Pics from Molina's party

These are 2 of the cutest kids I think I've ever seen! The hammock swing was a big hit - in the first picture, they're looking up adoringly at Leslie who's giving them a good ride. As the afternoon went on, and I pushed some, the game became, "ok, you're tired, but Leslie's had a break so she should be ready to push us, right?"

And, then, a great water fight ensued.

Dance Fever

Saturday, we spent the day at Molina's - his daughter Lorraine got her BS, so it was time for a celebration. Here's a taste of Molina and Steve, with his signature move.

Enjoy. We sure did!

Not a good day for pizza

I don't know what was going on, but it took me 15 minutes to get out of Gate 5 on Friday because I was waiting for a motorcade of school busses to pass. They all pulled off and stopped at Cofo's Pizza. No kidding, there must have been at least 15 busses parked by the time I passed, and Cofo's pizza is this tiny little trailer with ONE pizza oven.

I decided it would be a good night to go home and cook for myself.

All sorts of paradise

Friday, Steve came home and poured me one of the most perfect Black and Tans ever. So good, we decided it was photo worthy, so out to garden to check on our newly budding Birds of paradise.

It's been raining at some point every day for a really long time now. Kinda sucks for afternoon plants, but the flowers sure are loving it!

We resisted for over a year...

But on Thursday, we finally caved and visited the "Gaby's Donas" kiosk in front of Sam's Club. The smell that eminates from this place is really quite possibly the sweetest smell on earth, which is precicely the reason we've been trying to avoid it and not start the habit. Gaby's Donas are little tiny donuts, or in reality, they're little tiny circular funnel cakes, tossed hot into a bag and sprinkled with powdered sugar.

My mouth's watering just thinking about them.

Thursday, we had to make a trip to Mayaguez, and decided to go see Toy Story 3 at the same time. Of course, the showtimes listed weren't the showtimes that the theater decided to use, so we ended up with some time to kill. Boredom, ergo, let's try something new to eat. We got the first bag and ate it as we walked to the movie theater. We then walked ALL THE WAY back around to the kiosk to get the second bag. Did I mention that we had to walk in the rain to get the second bag? It was pouring. But it was worth getting wet. So. This picture is of Steve finishing off bag number two, while we're standing under the grocery cart shelter at Sam's Club trying to stay dry.

Because of course, there are no actual carts under the shelter, they're all abandoed in the parking lot getting wet and rolling into cars...

Yea for Gaby's Donas. Boo for the Slaughters' waistlines.

Thank you MOM!

Driving to Mar Chiquito today, we lost the belt in the rear tire.
Superman Steve whipped out the spare, which of course was flat. But
not to fear, The super duper tire pump Mom got us was just what we
needed to pit us back on the road. Thanks Mom!

We have seen the enemy and its name is Godzilla(ito)

Would you look at that monster's belly? So full of my moonflower it's actually shiny and about to rupture. I guess that explains the chomp marks out of my ferns and now Moonflower. To add insult to injury, he even started to fall asleep while I was out here taking his picture. Steve said, "well, of course he did, his belly was full"

Giant Head in Isabela

We've driven past this giant head sculpture about a million times, but I dont' think we've ever stopped to take a picture of it. So, here's the big head off of Carrete 2.

Pictures from the trail

The first 2 pics are coming down from the trail, looking back toward the ocean. I like the second one - that's Martha Abney's profile if I've ever seen it ;-)

VERTIGO

I absolutely LOVE these pictures of Steve. But what I didn't realize was exactly how much vertigo I was going to get when he climbed up and suddenly there was more swirling in my vision than was staionary! Egads.

Last 2 pictures are of me starting down a trail that run by a (today) dry creekbed. Steve was cracking up when he took this pic because the place was lousy with crabs. Now, I enjoy playing with crabs, hermit and otherwise, as much as anyone we know. However, when I reached over to touch that boulder and the whole thing came to life with little hermits, it made me jump. Which made all the crabs around my feet scurry around my ankles. Which might have made me squeal a little.

Just a little though.
