Snorkin
Yesterday, we went back to Shacks Beach. The waves were kickin up a little more, so we decided to snorkel, rather than lug out all the dive gear. We traded for the underwater scooters... what a blast!!
The second picture is of a flame box crab - this is the second one we've seen in 2 days. They're not that common out here, and a whole lot of fun to watch play around in the sand. They can close the big plates in front of their pinchers up just like a turtle when they want to; otherwise, they're great fun to watch eat in the sand. They scoop up all manner of little mussels and send them flying, squirming up into the water. Once they've had their fill, they scooch back down under the sand, becoming almost invisible. All that's left is 2 white little eye stalks poking up through the sand.
The last picture is a much better shot of one of the puffers. Thank you very much, Steve Cousteau!
