Today's hell

...turned out to be not quite as bad as I thought! It's time - we had
to re-register the car. Typically, I would rather be beaten senseless
by a wet wahoo than put up with the beuocracy that is guaranteed to
leave you sweaty, mad, and $7 short, regardless of how much cash you
brought, but this time, it only took about an hour, and we had new
sticker in hand. Mind you, $211 less in our wallet, but still.
Actually, the hardest part of the whole ordeal was getting cash. We
went to the bank and the ATM lanes had at least 10 cars in each. So, I
went inside to use the walk-up. Silly me, to expect the ATM to
actually have MONEY in it... And even sillier to expect the first 3
people ahead of me to tell the rest of us poor schmucks in line that
the well had run dry. Since there were literally about 50-60 people in
line (some even brought their own chairs) to see the TWO open teller
windows, staying in the bank was not an option. We finally found a
functional ATM at another store. Of course, we had to do multiple
transactions (at $1.50 a pop) to get out what we thought would be
enough moolah, but hey. We got it accomplished in the end, an no one
got a black eye.

It took us two hours at DMV to get a tag. And we want these guys in charge of health care? ;-) Glad you guys are doing well. I signed up for summer school so no vacation for me. Peace and prosperity
