The Head of La Madre
Red Rock
I love the third picture - If you enlarge it, you can see that there is a little egg-shaped cactus in the center. It was the only one of its kind, and it was perfect! It looks like it's been protected by a ring of rocks, and then all the other cacti are standing guard around. Makes me grin
There are a lot of nice trails in Red Rock, and you can also just go out walking on your own, which is pretty darned great. We took the La Madre trail, named because it leads up to a spring. The last 2 pictures were takend when we got to the little pool and creek from it - it was amazing how green of a little trough it cut through the desert

Poor Carlito
This is the first of a series I took of Carlito, on his phone, realizing that he had been crazy to allow himself to be dragged into a canyon hike with the Slaughters. I don't think he quite knew what he was getting himself into! LOL! He was an awful good sport about the whole day though, and he never once complained. Even if he didn't run up hillsides with us, he always came plodding up after us anyways, and was ready to go again once we'd finished our detour from the trail.

I liked the contrast of the snaky road and the spiky aloe in the second picture
I posted the picture of Steve because the reflection in his sunglasses is pretty cool. As I recall, he was teasing me and glaring at me for taking too long with the panoramas. So, I did the only reasonable thing, and took a picture of him. And ended up really liking it :-)
